YHWH and the Revelation of the Son
Paleo-Hebrew scholars often point out that the name YHWH (יהוה) can be visually interpreted as “Behold the Hand, Behold the Nail” - a prophetic image embedded in the very name of God. This prophetically depicts crucifixion, a concept unknown in Moses’ day but perfectly fulfilled in the execution of Yeshua (Jesus) centuries later.
Many interpret this as a reference to the Father, yet Scripture is clear: the Father was not crucified. The one who was nailed to the tree was the Son, the Word made flesh - Yeshua the Messiah.
Luke 24:26-27 – “Was it not necessary for the Messiah to suffer these things and to enter His glory? Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them the things written about Himself in all the Scriptures.”
Yeshua came in the shared covenant name of YHWH - not to replace the Father, but to glorify Him by making His nature visible in a redemptive act that had been hinted at even in the ancient letterforms.
John 17:6 – “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me.”
John 17:11 – “Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name—the name You gave Me…”
This makes it undeniably clear:
The name was shared.
The nails were endured.
The Son revealed the Father’s glory.
The crucified one, Yeshua, He is the visible image of the invisible God, carrying the covenant name YHWH, so that every eye might behold the hand, behold the nail.
