YESHUA IS THE ALMIGHTY (EL SHADDAI)
Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
This “Almighty” is El Shaddai, the same title used in
Exodus 6:3:
“I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El Shaddai (God Almighty), but by My name YHWH I was not known to them.”
But look at this…
Revelation 1:18
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen.”
The one called Almighty in verse 8 is the SAME one speaking in verse 18 —
Only Yeshua was dead and is now alive forevermore.
This proves that Yeshua is the Almighty — El Shaddai!
Name Changes in Scripture Are for Servants — Not the Father
Every name change in Scripture marks a covenant upgrade for a human:
Abram → Abraham
Sarai → Sarah
Jacob → Israel
Hoshea → Joshua
Simon → Peter
Saul → Paul
These are all servants of the Most High.
Yet we see in Exodus 6:3 that even the title of God revealed to the patriarchs changed:
El Shaddai → YHWH
This suggests not a change in the Father’s eternal name, but a progressive revelation through His Messenger — Yeshua.
Yeshua Is the Messenger of the Covenant
Malachi 3:1
“…The Lord whom you seek shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the Covenant, whom you delight in.”
This is Yeshua —
He is the one who enters the Temple, speaks on behalf of the Father, and brings the New Covenant in His own blood.
John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh.”
John 12:49 – “I have not spoken on My own authority; the Father who sent Me gave Me a command…”
John 17:6 – “I have manifested Your Name to the men You gave Me.”
Yeshua reveals the Father’s covenantal identity.
YHWH = Covenant Name Between the Father and the Son
Yeshua says in John 10:30 — “I and the Father are One.”
And again in John 17:11 — “Keep them through Your name which You have given Me…”
That means YHWH is not just the Father’s name…
It is the shared covenant name in which the Son operates.
He is the one who speaks from the burning bush, who says “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58),
And the one who will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Final Summary:
Revelation 1 shows that Yeshua is the Almighty / El Shaddai.
He is the only one who was dead and is now alive forevermore.
Name changes are for servants, and the progression of names from El Shaddai → YHWH → a New Name all point to Yeshua.
He has always been the Messenger of the Covenant, and the visible image of the invisible God.
It has always been Yeshua and His name will be fully revealed when He returns.
